Survival in Bronchogenic Carcinoma

چکیده
COMMUNICATIONSTO THE EDITOR 901 dosis to activity and generalization of the disease seems distinct. Positive tonsillar specimens were fewer than had been reported, but even lower figures have been quoted. These differences might be due to differences in selecting patients, and taking and processing biopsies. In tonsillar specimens, granulomas were sparsely located. Therefore, in some of our cases they might have escaped biopsy. Conjunctival and tonsillar biopsies are quick and painless and suited for outpatient work. Conjunctival biopsy, possibly combined with a tonsilar one, helps to verify sarcoidosis histologically in a remarkably high proportion of the cases, and is to be recommended in preference to any major procedures. Lung Carcinoma Metastasis to the Distal Part of Index Finger: A Case Report
Although acrometastases are rare but clinically they are considered important. Their etiology is quite different from the metastases to other sites; bronchogenic carcinoma is by far the most frequent case. The prognosis is always similar to metastatic bronchial cancer with an average survival of three mo...

Five hundred eighty patients underwent diagnostic flexible fiberoptic bronchoscopy: during June 1988 to March 1993 at the bronchoscopy center of Kerman university of medical sciences. Seventy six specimens were obtained from patients with bronchogenic carcinoma and 155 from patients with benign disease of the lung. The efficiency of brushing and washing techniques was compared with forceps b...

INTRODUCTION A new classification of bronchogenic carcinoma has been made by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and published by Frank C. Detterbeck et al in the journal Chest (2009). The Thoracic Surgery Department of the Gerona (Spain) University Hospital has re-staged a series of patients with bronchogenic carcinoma who had attempted curative surgery, with the...
متن کاملBronchogenic carcinoma and coexistent bronchioloalveolar cell adenomas. Assessment of radiologic detection and follow-up in 28 patients.
PURPOSE Bronchioloalveolar cell adenomas (BAAs) have been described in up to 10% of patients with bronchogenic carcinoma. Their prognostic significance is unknown. The purpose of this study was to determine the prognostic implications of finding BAAs coexisting in specimens resected for primary bronchogenic carcinoma and to determine how frequently BAAs can be detected radiologically. METHODS...
متن کاملSuperior Vena Cava Syndrome due to Thrombosis: A Rare Paraneoplastic Presentation of Bronchogenic Carcinoma
Superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome is not an uncommon occurrence in patients with malignancy and it is often described as a medical emergency. In majority of the cases, SVC syndrome occurs due to mechanical obstruction of the SVC by extraluminal compression with primary intrathoracic malignancies. However, intraluminal obstruction due to thrombosis can also produce symptoms and signs of SVC synd...
